"All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching,
and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer."
Acts 2:42 NLT
Harvest Chapel is stewarding, only by grace, an atmosphere that is parallel to what we see in scripture throughout the account of the early church after Pentecost. In which the Spirit of God, operating through families, impacted & changed the community and culture in which they lived. It is our delightful responsibility to preach the message of the Kingdom, which is that "He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." (2 Cor. 5:21).
May the entire world come to know the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory! (Col. 1:27)
We could try to explain, but it wouldn't do. It is something that just has to be experienced. We gather together at 7pm every Tuesday Night and just let the Holy Spirit lead, however that may flow for the evening. And trust us when we say, it's never the same! The Lord led us to have our mid-week meeting on Tuesday nights so family from other gathering bodies could join us for worship in this house as well as us join them in their houses on Wednesdays and other days.
No commentaries. No quarterlies. Just taking our time under the guidance of the Holy Spirit to walk through the Word of God each week. Currently going through the Gospel of John. We meet every Thursday night at 6:30pm in the Family Room. If you are looking for some spiritual milk or even some strong meat from the Word of God, we encourage you to join us.
An intimate time of prayer and worship for those who are looking for undistracted time alone with their Savior. We open the doors at 9am every other Saturday morning and people come and go or come and stay as they are led. No setlist and no agenda, just getting alone with Him in our secret place and soaking in His Presence.
When the Lord planted us in Nitro, WV, we noticed our building was just across the street from a Community Coin Laundry. We knew right then that God was wanting to wash more than just clothes. So the last Sunday of every month, from 3pm to 5pm, we simply love on the community. From free quarters & detergent for laundry, to free food, we are trying to give back freely as best we can to what we we have received freely.
Can you smell what Harvest is cookin'?!
This has been a season of rediscovery for many of us at Harvest Chapel. One of those things we are rediscovering is what so many of us have come to know as "Sunday School". We believe, by the Word of God & how the early church lived throughout the book of Acts, that growth and connection happens better in a family room setting then it does in a class room setting. So every Sunday morning at 9:30am we cook a full home-made breakfast and we eat together, grow together, and share God's Word together.
When Jesus said “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (Jn 14:6), He was speaking about so much more than just going to heaven when you die. He was describing the only "way" to experience God, the only "truth" about God, and the only "life" in God. This can only be lived out through authentic son/daughter-ship that we have found in the finished work of Jesus Christ. If the Father is well pleased with the Son, then the Father is well pleased with us. So we gather each Sunday morning at 10:45am to celebrate this grace message we have received and to encourage and build one another up with the transforming power of the love of God.
Every Sunday night, the CROP middle and high school gather in worship and prayer. They have created a space of their own where they can run after Jesus, with all their heart, the way they want to. The heart behind wildfires is it only takes one spark to light an entire forest on fire. And it only takes one youthful heart on fire to set an entire school or city ablaze for God. And the only thing preventing a wildfire like that...is you! These meetings will begin at 6:00pm in October.
On the first Monday evening of every month, the men from Harvest & other church bodies gather to engage in conversation that makes them, not only better followers of Jesus, but better husbands and fathers. We are currently going through the book "Wild at Heart" by John Eldredge. It has been a thought and heart provoking time as we try to discover the secret of a man's soul. These study's start at 7:30pm.
THE CROP is the name of Harvest Chapel's youth. And they are just that, a crop of good & wonderful seed sown into every place their foot touches. From newborns to those transitioning into adulthood, this place is a launching pad for the faith of the next generation. So our ceiling would become their floor.
"No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him." - John 1:18 ...
This section is not yet up. Keep checking back.
For now, here is some instrumental worship music for you to soak in.
The word "Church" or " Ecclesia" was never meant to describe a building. The church is a body of believers. A gathering of sons and daughters dwelling and abiding in the presence of their Heavenly Father.
This is a House of God.
A house where we restore and rediscover.
A house where tables replace platforms.
A house where family rooms replace classes.
A house where couches replace pews.
A house where children are free to dance.
A house where the weary can find rest.
A house where the only title is "beloved".
A house where imagination is encouraged.
A house where traditions are left.
A house where communion and community meet.
A house where your identity is not defined by your past or position
but by the posture of your heart.
Your heartfelt support and contributions will allow us to continue
to steward God's house with the united vision He has placed
in our hearts to see the Kingdom of Heaven come to earth.
Come join us in the Family Room!
